A Message From Our District President
Renewal through repentance
The Lord
is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit
(Ps. 34:18).
As each day carries us further into
this post-Christian era, it is important for Christians to know their
birthright and to trust their heritage from the Lord. Believers are not born of
natural descent, nor of the will of man, nor of the will of the flesh, but they
are born of God (John 1:12-13). Jesus
instructed Nicodemus that he must be born a second time, which also means “born
from above” (John 3:3). This birth comes
through “water and the Spirit” (John 3:4) and is fulfilled in Holy Baptism
(Titus 3:5; Rom. 6:1-11). This is the
Christian birthright, to be born from above through the working of God by water
and the Spirit. In Holy Baptism you have
literally been clothed in Christ (Gal. 3:27).
The
Christian heritage is extraordinary. You
have received an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade away.
It is reserved in heaven for you (1 Peter
1:3-4). Your true life is hidden with
God in Christ. When Jesus returns you
also will appear with Him in glory (Col. 3:3-4). Meanwhile you are being guarded through faith
for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ who has given you these things through His Son and by the power of
the Holy Spirit. The best is yet to
come.
